Tips and FAQ

Why does the order list open on Submitted? Because that is the work. Submitted orders are the ones the field has booked and nobody has dealt with. Switch the rail to All when you need the archive.

I changed a quantity and the line total went blank. Is that a bug? No. Your browser does not work out tax or totals — the server does, on save. Rather than show you a figure that might be wrong, the row says recalculates on save until you save.

Why does it keep asking me for a reason? Only on orders the field has already booked. A draft you are building yourself saves without one. Once a salesman has booked an order, changing it is a correction to someone else's work, and the record of why is the point.

Does previewing an invoice use up a number? No. The preview shows you the series the number will come from; the number itself is taken only when you press Issue invoice. Open and discard as many previews as you like.

Can I issue two invoices for one order? No. One order becomes one invoice. Asking again returns the invoice that already exists.

Why does my new invoice say the books are Pending? Because they are. In this release an invoice does not post to your ledger and does not raise a receivable — that step waits until the delivery side ships, so that issuing an invoice never quietly moves stock. The document, its number and its tax are final regardless.

The tax shows CGST and SGST on one invoice and IGST on another. Why? It follows the place of supply. A sale within your own state splits into CGST and SGST; a sale to another state carries IGST instead. The preview tells you which one it has decided on and why.

Can I cancel an invoice? Not in this release. Cancel the order before it is converted, or raise the correction with your accountant. There is deliberately no button that looks like it reverses something and does not.

Someone booked a sale that never went through the field. Where does it go? Billing Without an Order — a direct invoice, with a mandatory reason.
