Correcting an Order

The salesman books what the shop said at the counter. Quantities get mistyped, prices get promised, lines get missed. This is where you fix it.

  1. Open the order from Sales → Orders.
  2. In Line Items, type over the Qty, Unit Price or Discount on any line.
  3. To add something the salesman missed, click Add item and pick it from the catalogue.
  4. To drop a line, click the ✕ at the end of its row.
  5. An amber bar appears at the top of the page. There are no Save or Cancel buttons on the form itself — the bar is how you save or discard.
  6. Click Save with reason in the bar.
  7. A box asks Why are you changing this order? It lists exactly what is about to change — for example "PEPSI 250ML: quantity 24 → 12".
  8. Type the reason and click Save with reason.

No reason, no save. On an order the field has already booked, the reason is required. The button stays disabled until you have typed one.

What the figures do while you edit

The tax and the line total of any row you touch stop showing a number and say recalculates on save. That is deliberate: the server works out tax and totals, not your browser, so the screen would rather show nothing than show you a figure that turns out to be different once it saves.

Where the change goes

Every save lands in Edit History at the bottom of the order with your name, the time, what moved and the reason you gave. The salesman who booked it can see it too.

If the save is refused

The reason box stays open holding the message. Common ones:

  • The order is already invoiced — it can no longer be edited.
  • The order has been cancelled.
