Tips and FAQ
-
Why do I only see Profile in Settings? Everyone can open Settings → Profile to see their details and connect a Google account. The other sections (General, Organization, Nomenclature, Sign-in methods, Plan & Billing, About) only appear when your role includes user-management access. Ask your administrator if you need something changed there.
-
Do General settings apply only to me? No — the regional defaults (time zone, locale, date format, week start, default landing page) apply to all stores and all users in the workspace. The one exception is Console language at the bottom of the General page, which is a personal preference that only changes what you see.
-
What's the difference between Locale and Console language? Locale is the workspace-wide regional default applied to dashboards and emails. Console language is your own choice of language for the console UI — changing it doesn't affect anyone else.
-
Where does the Organization branding actually show up? On generated documents — invoices, purchase orders, and report PDFs. The Document Preview on the Organization page shows exactly how the header will look. See Organization Profile and Branding.
-
Why is my logo upload rejected? The logo must be a PNG or JPG and no larger than 512 KB. Resize or re-export the image and try again.
-
Can I change my username? No. Your username is your sign-in identity and is read-only on the Profile page. If your role includes user-management access you can change your first name, last name, and email there; otherwise they are read-only and your administrator changes them.
-
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan? Plan changes can't be made from the console — the Plan & Billing page is read-only. Contact support to change tiers.
-
Does renaming or moving a screen change permissions or hide features? No. Nomenclature only changes names and where entries sit in the sidebar. Feature access is controlled by your plan and by roles and permissions under Admin.
-
How do I undo a rename? Click the curved arrow beside that name (or clear the box) and save — a blank box falls back to the original name. See Naming and Arranging the Sidebar (Nomenclature).
-
Can I move a screen to a different sidebar group, like a "Masters" menu? Yes. Open Settings → Nomenclature, rename an existing group to "Masters", drag the screens you want into it (or use Move to in the row's three-dot menu), and save. Moving a screen never changes who can open it. See Naming and Arranging the Sidebar (Nomenclature).
-
I changed something but nothing was saved — why? Settings forms save through the amber unsaved-changes bar that appears at the top when you edit. If you navigate away without clicking Save there, your edits are discarded.
-
Where can I see which version of the console I'm using? Open Settings → About (Settings is pinned at the bottom of the sidebar) — it shows the current build version and a list of what's changed in recent releases. See Checking Your Console Version and Release Notes.
