What Field Operations Does

Field Operations is where you monitor and support your van sales team from the back office. Your field reps run their day from the mobile app — starting a day cycle, driving a route, visiting stores, ringing up sales — and this section is where you see all of that live, plus manage the master data the field depends on: the customer stores they visit, the vehicles they drive, and the route plans they follow.

The four screens

All four live under the Operations section of the sidebar:

  1. Day Cycles (/ops/day-cycles) — a read-only monitoring view of every field rep's working day: who is in the field right now, store coverage, sales and cash collected, plus per-cycle detail with store visits and expense approvals.
  2. Customer Stores (/ops/customer-stores) — the shops your vans serve. Each record carries the owner's contact details, a GPS location, and an optional credit limit.
  3. Vehicles (/ops/vehicles) — your fleet. Each vehicle has an identity, a status, and a crew assignment (driver, sales executive, and so on).
  4. Route Plans (/ops/route-plans) — reusable route templates: an ordered list of customer store stops with a coverage target, optionally paired with a vehicle.

How it all fits together

Set things up in this order:

  1. Add your Customer Stores first — route plans are built from them.
  2. Add your Vehicles and assign the crew to each.
  3. Create Route Plans from your customer stores and assign a vehicle to each plan.
  4. From there the mobile app takes over: when a field rep taps Day Start on their device, a Day Cycle appears here and you can watch it progress until day close.

You never create a day cycle from the portal — the Day Cycles screen is purely for monitoring and for reviewing/approving what the field submits.
