Your Money Numbers
The top of the Dashboard is the money strip: the numbers most owners check every morning, on one line so you can read all of them without scrolling. Each cell is clickable and opens the report the number came from.
- Open Dashboard from the navigation. The money strip sits directly under the page header, below the small Money label — one panel divided into cells by faint dashed lines.
- Set the period first, using the date bar in the page header — Today, Week, Month, Year, or Custom. See Changing the Date Range.
- Read the three period cells, which follow the date you picked:
- Sales — your total sales for the period, with the number of sales behind it and your average sale underneath. Click it to open the sales summary report.
- Purchases — the value of purchase orders raised in the period, with how many orders that was and how many are still waiting for approval. If none were raised, the line reads "No purchase orders in this period" instead of a row of zeroes. Click it to open the purchase order report.
- Expenses — day-cycle expenses recorded in the period, with the number of claims, or "No expense claims in this period" when there were none. Click it to open Day Cycles.
- Read the two balance cells. These ignore the date bar completely, because a
balance is where you stand right now, not a total for a period:
- Cash & Bank — your total across cash and bank accounts, with your largest accounts and their balances named underneath. Click it to open the trial balance for the full list.
- Customer Balance — the total your customers still owe you. If any of it is more than 90 days late, that amount is called out in red on the line underneath, along with what you owe suppliers. If nothing is owed, the line reads "Nothing outstanding". Click it to open the receivables aging report and see who owes what.
- Notice which numbers are dark and bold and which are grey. A dark, heavy figure is money that actually moved; a grey, lighter one is a real zero — nothing happened in that area for the period you picked. Both are the same size, so the strip stays on one line, but your eye lands on the numbers that matter first. A long dash (—) means the figure could not be worked out at all, which is different from zero.
- The panel directly below, Receivables Aging, breaks that customer balance down by how old it is — see Chasing Overdue Money.
- Everything further down is your operational view — action items, sales activity, terminals, and your ranked lists. See Reading Your Business Snapshot.
Why some cells aren't there
- You only see cells for areas your role is allowed to see. If your role has no access to purchasing, the Purchases cell is simply not on the page — it is never shown locked or empty, and the remaining cells widen to fill the space.
- Cash & Bank and Customer Balance read your accounting ledger. If your business isn't using the accounting module, they aren't shown at all, rather than showing a zero that would be wrong. Sales, Purchases and Expenses work for everyone.
- What you owe suppliers no longer has a cell of its own. You'll find it on the Customer Balance line and as a row in the Receivables aging panel.

Click Show me how next to the date bar for a short guided walkthrough. It also runs by itself the first time you open the Dashboard.
Why it looks so compact
The strip is deliberately tight: everything you need is on one screen, so nothing important is hidden below the fold. The page is split into three labelled groups — Money, Sales Shape and Operations — so you always know which part of the business you are reading. Numbers are abbreviated once they pass five figures (12.4K, 1.2M) and cents are dropped — open the report behind a cell whenever you need the exact figure. If you have switched your system on to reduced motion, the strip appears instantly with no animation.
