Tips and FAQ
-
Which fields are required to create a customer? Just three: First name, Email, and Mobile number. Everything else — last name, land phone, country code, city, country — can be added later by editing the profile.
-
Why can't I type a customer number? Customer numbers are assigned automatically by the server when the customer is first saved, and can't be changed afterwards. This keeps them unique across your whole business.
-
My mobile number is rejected — what format does it want? Digits only, 7 to 15 of them, with an optional leading
+. For example+971501234567works; spaces, dashes, and brackets don't. -
What do the statuses mean? Active — a normal, in-use customer. Inactive — temporarily out of use. Archived — kept for the record but no longer part of day-to-day work. Status is changed from the pill row on the customer's profile — see Editing or Deleting a Customer.
-
Can I recover a deleted customer? No — deletion is permanent, and the confirmation dialog warns you before it happens. If you might need the customer again, set their status to Inactive or Archived instead of deleting.
-
Where's the Save button on the forms? There isn't a fixed one — the moment you change anything, an amber unsaved-changes bar appears with Save and Discard. This is the same pattern used across the console.
-
How do I search by email or phone instead of name? Use
field:valuein the search box —email:ahmad@example.comormobile:+97150. Plain text (nofield:) searches the first name. See Finding and Filtering Customers. -
I can't see Customers in my sidebar at all — why? Your user role doesn't include customer management access. Ask your administrator to grant it; the menu entry appears automatically once you have permission.
-
Is a CRM customer the same as a Customer Store on a route? No. Customer Stores (under Operations) are the shops served on van routes. Customers here are individual customer profiles — the ones you attach to orders at checkout, for example in the Orders screen's customer search.
