Creating a Quotation
- In the sidebar, open Sales → Quotations.
- Click New Quote (top right).
- Choose the Store the offer comes from. This is required, and it is also what decides which registers you can pick from later if the quote is ever converted.
- Check the Quote Date. It defaults to today.
- Click Search by name or number under Customer and pick the customer. A quotation must have one — an offer to nobody has no meaning.
- Set Valid Until. It defaults to 15 days from the quote date. Underneath the field you will see how far out that date actually is ("15 days from today") — that caption is what catches a mistyped year.
- Optionally fill in Notes and Terms. Both of these print on the PDF the customer receives, so write them for the customer, not for your team.
- Add your items — see Adding Items and Setting Prices.
- When you are ready, use the amber bar at the top of the page and click Save quote. There are no Save/Cancel buttons on the form itself.
You land on the quotation's own page, in Draft, with its number (for example SQ-000142).
If something is missing
- No customer picked → saving is blocked and the Customer field says so.
- Valid Until earlier than the quote date → saving is blocked. If you move the quote date forward past the validity date, the validity window is pushed out with it rather than the edit being refused.
- Move the quote date and the window follows; change the validity date yourself any time before you send it.
You can save an empty draft
A quotation with no items saves fine — it is an offer you are still building. You just cannot send it until it has at least one line, and the Mark Sent button says so.
Your work survives a refresh
If you close the tab or reload mid-edit, your unsaved quotation comes back and a message tells you it was restored. Each quotation keeps its own draft, so a half-finished new quote can never reappear on top of a different one.
