Starting from an Accepted Quotation
If a customer accepted a price offer, you do not have to retype it. The New Sale screen can open with everything already filled in.
- Go to Sales → Quotations and open the accepted quotation.
- Click Convert to Order.
- Confirm the register the order should land on, and click Continue.
- The New Sale screen opens with the store, the customer and every line — quantities, prices and discounts — already in place. A note at the top tells you which quotation they came from.
- Set the Payment Status and Payment Method as usual.
- Use the amber bar to Create order.
The order is created exactly as any other console order is, and the quotation is then marked Converted with a link to the transaction.
Check the total first
Tax is recalculated from today's item tax rates, not copied from the quotation. If a rate changed since the offer went out, the order's grand total can differ from the printed quote. Compare the two before you create the order.
Things worth knowing
- You can still edit anything before saving — add a line, change a quantity, remove an item. Nothing is locked.
- If the order is created but the link back to the quotation fails to record, you will be told. The order stands; open the quotation and convert it again to link them.
- Nothing about the counter or QuickPick flow changes. This is the same console order screen, just pre-filled.
