Reading Notifications from the Bell
The notification bell sits in the top toolbar on every page of the dashboard. It is your notification inbox: a red badge on the bell shows your unread count (capped at "99+"), and the panel underneath lists your notifications newest-first.
Reading your notifications
- Click the bell icon in the top-right toolbar. The notifications panel opens.
- Each notification shows:
- A category badge (e.g. New Order, Low Stock, Broadcast) — colour-coded by group
- How long ago it arrived (e.g. "5m ago")
- The title and a short preview of the message
- A blue dot on the left if it's still unread (unread rows are also lightly highlighted)
- Click a notification to open it. This marks it as read, and if the notification points at something in the dashboard (an order, a route, a day cycle), you're taken straight to that screen.
- Click anywhere outside the panel to close it.
If the panel says "No notifications yet — You're all caught up.", there's simply nothing new.
Marking everything as read
Click Mark all read at the top of the panel. The unread badge clears immediately. The button is greyed out when you have no unread notifications.
Filtering by category
When the list gets busy, you can narrow it to one category:
- Open the bell panel and click the filter button in the panel header.
- In the Filter notifications drawer, pick a category under Category — for example New Order or Broadcast. The list updates immediately; there's no Apply button — Clear all in the top-right resets your pick, and the button at the bottom just closes the panel.
- Pick All categories (or use Clear in the drawer) to remove the filter.
While a filter is active, the filter button shows a count of 1, and an empty result shows "Nothing in this category."
How fresh is the list?
The bell checks for new notifications automatically every 30 seconds. If you allowed browser push notifications, new notifications also appear instantly. You never need to reload the page.
