Tips and FAQ
-
I don't see the bell or the Notifications section — why? Your role doesn't have the Notifications feature enabled. Ask your admin to grant it. The Broadcast page needs a separate broadcast permission on top of that.
-
Do I need to refresh the page to see new notifications? No. The bell checks for new notifications every 30 seconds on its own, and if you allowed browser push, new ones appear instantly.
-
I declined the browser's notification permission prompt — did I break anything? No. Browser push is purely a bonus. The bell keeps working and updating automatically; you just won't get desktop pop-ups. To get push later, re-allow notifications for the site in your browser's settings.
-
Why can't I turn off the Broadcast category in Preferences? Broadcasts are admin announcements for time-sensitive operational messages, so they're locked on for everyone — that's what the "Always on — cannot be disabled" note means. See Choosing Which Notifications You Receive.
-
Where do preference toggles get saved? I can't find a Save button. Each switch saves the moment you click it — no Save button, no unsaved-changes bar. If saving fails you'll see an error and the switch flips back.
-
Can I un-send a broadcast? No. Once you confirm in the "Send this broadcast?" dialog, it goes out to every recipient immediately. Double-check the target summary in that dialog before clicking Send.
-
What's a deep link on a broadcast? An optional dashboard path (like
/ops/day-cycles) attached to the message. Recipients who click the notification jump straight to that screen. See Sending a Broadcast to Your Team. -
The Send broadcast button is greyed out — what's missing? One of three things: a title, a message body, or a valid target (at least one user selected, or a role chosen — "Everyone in the tenant" is always valid).
-
How do I see only one kind of notification in the bell? Use the filter button in the bell panel's header and pick a category — the list narrows immediately. See Reading Notifications from the Bell.
-
A notification took me to another screen when I clicked it — is that expected? Yes. Notifications that relate to something in the dashboard carry a link, and clicking the row opens it (and marks the notification read). Notifications without a link just get marked read.
