Changing or Ending a Rate
A rate is never edited in place. There are two things you can do to one, and the difference matters.
Revising: the supplier put their price up
- Purchases → Agreed Prices → find the rate.
- Either open it and click Revise rate, or use the ⋮ menu on the row.
- The supplier, item and unit are shown but cannot be changed — those three are the agreement. Changing one would be a different agreement, not a new price for this one.
- Type the new rate. The box starts empty on purpose, so you cannot save a revision that changes nothing.
- Set Valid from — when the new rate starts. The old rate is closed the day before.
- Save from the amber bar.
Afterwards you have two rows: the old rate marked Superseded, and the new one Active. A purchase order dated inside the old window still prices at the old rate. Nothing that already happened is rewritten.
Ending: you stopped buying it from them
- Use End agreement from the row's ⋮ menu, or the End button on the agreement's page.
- Confirm. The rate stops applying from today.
The rate is kept. Documents dated inside its window still price correctly — ending it only stops it applying from now on.
Reading the history
Open any agreement and the middle of the page lists Every Rate On This Key, newest first, with each one's validity window and status. The row you opened is marked You are here; the others are one click away.
Below that, What You Actually Paid shows the rates taken off your real purchase documents for the same pairing. Where the two disagree, that gap is the story: it is the difference between what you agreed and what got keyed.
Status, and why "Active" is not always the answer
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| In force | Active, and today falls inside its dates. This is the rate a purchase order will use. |
| Scheduled | Active, but it has not started yet. |
| Lapsed | Active, but its end date has passed. It is not being used. |
| Superseded | A revision replaced it. Kept as history. |
| Ended | Someone closed it by hand. |
The list shows In force by default, because that is the question a buyer actually has. Use the Status filter to bring the others back.
